Sweden's best-known knäckebröd is baked just outside Leksand, still by the same family. The shop sells the full range plus broken-but-perfect bargain bags. Great rainy-day stop and an easy gift to bring home.
On weekday mornings you can watch the ovens running through the bakery windows. The broken-bread bags are a fraction of the price and taste identical — there's usually an open one in the cabin's pantry, as you may have noticed.
